Fantastic! How to Detach From the Illusion of Control?!!
Believe it or not, free will doesn’t exist outside of ourselves. We can only do so much before our powers cease. Sure, we are a powerful, capable, and relatively intelligent species, but we don’t hold all the control. Despite all the criminal masterminds and supervillains we see in classical and contemporary media, we don’t have all the buttons to dismantle a foe and push all their sore spots. Then again, I could be wrong. Perhaps we do possess all the power — now what? What is the truth when we each have a different interpretation on the face of reality when we each perceive the same rock as something far different? So, how do we detach from the illusion of control? Well, we must admit the reality in front of us: we don’t.
Of course, the more we try to force something to work in our favor, the more friction we encounter. When we keep pushing our agenda, we pull ourselves further away from where we need to be. Can’t we imagine: the frustration, the angst, the loathing accompanied with a chasm of hopelessness. Why do we do that to ourselves? Why do we suspend our primary motivation to survival: self-preservation? Is everything inverted these days? Couldn’t we just let our desires flow right to us? Is it too whimsical of an idea to let the current of control fall into our laps? Does this have to be when we least expect it?
How to Detach From the Illusion of Control: Yes, We Have NO Control
We can’t control other people or unforeseen circumstances brewing in the increasingly gray, ambivalent, and nefarious skies. Then again, we don’t know whether the sky tells lies or merely projects the naked eye. Why must we give birth to such uncertainty and ambivalence? Is the human condition meant to be this cryptic and enigmatic? What are the pros and cons of being out of control? What are the odds that we are the most in control when we surrender to fate’s mighty hand? Isn’t it ironic we are the funniest and the most transcendent when we aren’t trying? Why try and why not be?
I think we learn tons of insight into our human condition when we reassess where we went wrong. Some circumstances change the fabric of who we are for good. Other situations allow us to manifest above or below where we intended. Either way, every experience presents the opportunity to grow and let go of the same broken, tired, cliched narrative plaguing us from the womb. Of course, the genes of poverty, confusion, and war are equal measures made and born, a product of nature or nurture. Yet, we can’t fight against ourselves if we yearn to get somewhere soon. We must work with our life source.
We are Powerful Because We Lack Control. One of the most robust attributes of our humanity is the ability to embody the ramifications of vulnerability, frailty, and streaks of brokenness. Who are we helping when we pretend we have it all together? Who are we hurting when we lie to the masses about having everything under our control? Essentially, it’s okay to lack all the answers. What is more admirable than a person able to openly, authentically admit all their faults?
No matter how much we try, there will always be an inherent degree of limited control. The catch is we are the limitless limited by our form. Because of this, we receive glimpses of how great, divine, and majestic we are. We experience delusions of grandeur when we receive messages from realms far beyond the depth and breadth of the human form. We feel invisible when we defy the nature of gravity and look unscathed. That said, there are exceptions to every rule. We might seem to wield all the control in one moment, only to lose our winning streak in the same zone. Akin to much else, control is a fleeting remote.
Matter of factly, it’s the same game with different players — I’d like to call it the game of ego!! We’ve got to feel like we are in charge, on top of every storm, and above the odds. Yet, the events transpire in every way but what we anticipated and hoped. Perhaps we point the finger at everyone else or blame ourselves until breaking dawn and then some. Again, the only thing standing in our way and hindering us is our perception of our human form. Indeed, there are perks to not having all the power associated with steadfast control.
How to Detach From the Illusion of Control? How would we grow if everything was at our fingertips? What would we gain if everything was peaches and cream — what a bore? Would we have any room to explore progress if we remained in the womb of celestial form?
Yes, we are angels, but sometimes we learn best when we are fallen. What matters more than good or bad is the capacity to transmute a place of nothingness into a state of something marvelous. Nirvana or heaven isn’t a place to visit; it is a state to embody in every way, shape, or form. We must be what we seek and wear it to soar!!
Detaching from our default is easier said than done, but we were born to weather the storm. The individual is customary for a reason. We are infinite co-creators because we surrender to all the control, knowledge, and power outside of our hands. Many forces, elements, and galaxies operate beyond our level of perception. However, this transcendent energy lies dormant in us all, waiting for the timeless moment to cultivate within our hearts and be reborn. Of course, we must answer the call. We have a plethora of questions. I’m sure, but all we have to do is hold on to explore the stomach of life’s core.
Surely we must know we are more than our human form? And if I might implore, we are both limited and limitless evermore? How must we balance such a demanding, controlling tightrope? Can we ever turn off the inclination to probe?
We don’t need to be in control. We don’t need to have or do anything to get control. Humans are control. Our species doesn’t need to engage in any activity depriving us of the control we lord ourselves. When we attach to our idea of control, we detach from self-control. As such, our external circumstances reflect this lack of control embedded in our internal condition. When our internal condition is in a state of uproar, our external reality morphs into a place of discordance and discord.
Seeking control is the same as looking in galaxies far apart when the answer is too close to home — there is no need to embark on these troubles and tolls when we can enjoy the fruits on a route of less resistance. Matter of factly, the less we resist, the more we flow. We must welcome the affairs of the world with an open, warm embrace and say, “I am!” We aren’t marrying control or signing a prenup to preserve our surname’s status quo. We are going with the flow and creating miracles from the cutting room floor. Soon, our intentions begin to show up in our reality. Then, the control works with and for us.
Indeed, control is a force of intrinsic and extrinsic wonder — it is similar to being in this world but not of it. If we are not lacking control, then we must be in control. If our focus isn’t intrapersonal, that’s how we lose control of the chi in our souls.
Perhaps control is an illusion because it’s neither as fixed nor bent as we’d conjecture. Imagine how controlled our communities would be if we applied control to ourselves first. Doesn’t self precede others, self precedes the community? We calibrate at a higher frequency when we detach from control, thus allowing old paradigms to deform. How much longer will we displace the meaning encapsulating the fruits of self-control? Why not enjoy the moment before it blows, and not in the orgasmic fashion or form?
We emanate joy, peace, love, and enlightenment thousandfold when we detach from the ventriloquist of control. Believe it or not, the power is invested in us to stop being puppets and cut the strings once and for all. There is no need to chase control to the extent we sell our self-worth. We must stop chasing the light, who we are. We are the control in an inverted form. Perhaps it is not the human condition but the human circumstance. We are the spiritual condition. Our projections must reflect our hidden, true nature.
To Clarify, How to Detach From the Illusion of Control?
We must face the reality we don’t need control; control needs us. If the rules break our limited form, why not let the exceptions bend and reform? Aren’t we ever-control? Aren’t we the face of all we seek to accommodate our form? Why not detach from the root of all suffering, letting painless joy and effortless abundance wash over us and attach to our brilliant, beautiful, blissful core? What if we are inverted because we must let reality bend our form, releasing the chains? How to detach from the illusion when we are within and without control?

Wow! That brought me to tears, literally! Thinking about how I fought so hard for so many years to control things that were out of my control! Once I learned to let go of being in control is when I started to have peace! When I think of where I was a year ago, I am so grateful for having obtained some peace in my life! Beautiful page and thank you for the reminder that yes, one has to let go of the power struggle and just be at peace!
Peace is one of the ultimate states of the internal condition. Peace is being in control and learning how to flow with life. I am so grateful for your generous contribution ❤️
Very thought provoking article! It is true that we are not in control and that the best way to live is to understand and accept that reality. I feel our world would be in a lot better place if humans as a whole accepted this too. It is, however, somewhat hard concept to grasp and even hard I think for most to accept.
Thank you for your invaluable commentary 😊
What a welcome breath of fresh air your website brings to the internet. While reading your delightful prose I couldn’t help but think about what they do with broken pots in Japan. If something gets broken they will fuse the pieces together with gold or silver. Their belief, and mine, is when something is mended after it is broken it will be stronger and more beautiful. The same as with human beings. You can rise higher if have experienced the depths of the soul.
Please keep writing your wonderful articles. You have a follower.
Kindest Regards
Stephen
