One of the greatest gifts of meditation is mindfulness. And, if utilized correctly, it can metamorphize from gift to talent. But first, we must focus on ourselves. While it is crucial to see the trees in conjunction with the forest and vice versa, we must understand the framework of our reality for ourselves. After all, we cannot help anyone without helping ourselves. We must go through the fire to withstand the pressure and emerge as a diamond reborn. Yet, how can we identify who we are if we do not obtain a solid grasp on our likes and dislikes? This train of thought begs the following question: how to be mindful about the triggers?
That said, we all encounter triggers on our journey. Still, some of us are not as in tune with that sacred side of ourselves. Others embody a psychic connection with what makes us tick. Our most potent convictions give us an indication of who we are and what we stand for. Consequently, we can find who we are by witnessing other people’s lives and learning from their mishaps. Perhaps some of us never had an upstanding, noble role model in our lives. Perhaps some did. Yet, the catch is learning from the experience nonetheless. Value is founded in every relationship, connection, and encounter because there is an opportunity for growth and maturity. So, when life teaches us what not to be, it enables us to be better teachers ourselves.
Instead of viewing life as a meteorite crashing and burning into our world, we must challenge ourselves to view it differently. Perhaps we could perceive it through the lens of blasting off into interstellar launch. After all, the only direction is up. So, why not allow ourselves to flow in the terrain of higher altitude? Why not address the triggers we encounter along the way?

Perhaps the fear of heights takes on more than one connotation, or the fear of abandonment manipulates us into thinking we are safer in the arms of the devil we know. Provided that familial and cultural upbringing gives us a robust foundation for who we are, there is a chance we are wrong about everything we know to be true. Yet, in some circumstances, we must put our foot down and declare our convictions. Please, by all means, do not allow anyone to gaslight. And who knows, perhaps that is an unconscious trigger worth identifying. Regardless of what gets our blood boiling or burning, the reasoning behind the happening is valid.
However we feel, we are valid. When inquiring how to be mindful about the triggers, we must note we will not have all the answers. Matter of factly, it is not out of the ordinary to formulate a conclusion only to overturn our judgment; it is prospecting. In other words, we are a working progress. As our perceptions change, so will our understanding of mindfulness and metacognition. We are eternal students. Also, it is unnecessary to guilt-trip ourselves concerning all we know now. Our past selves might not be as educated as our present selves, but that does not cheapen who we are in any remote capacity.
Every season in our lives serves its purpose. Yet, fight the urge to knock on closed doors. Some things belong in the past. To reiterate, that was then; this is now. The future is not obligated to share the same DNA as the past – it is not an asexual copy of all that is before its form. How we felt five seconds ago does not dictate how we will feel five seconds later. In essence, change is the only constant known to humankind. So, one of the most effective routes to overcoming our triggers is disclosing that they will not last forever. They are transient.

What matters most is allowing ourselves to heal. Of course, this process must be natural, or we can end up with more salt in our wounds. Whatever happened to us happened for us. Whatever left us for dead helped us to understand we are worth living. Even the most painful circumstances encourage us to appreciate the value of the most pleasurable, joyous conditions. It does not matter how long it takes to heal; it matters ever since we are on the healing journey. This process does not require a final destination, yet the light illuminates our bright futures at the end of every tunnel.
Better yet, our triggers yield the best room for growth, maturity, and development. They remind us that it is okay to be imperfect, flawed, messy, and most important, human. We did not reincarnate in human form to be perfect. We did not reincarnate to succumb to the duality of the third density. We are here to levitate, evolve, and ascend thus far. Nothing is a coincidence. As fallacious as it sounds, everything has a purpose in our lives.
Also, triggers are not ever as powerful as they seem. Most often, we give them more power than they are worth. And, that’s the catch: we are worth it. We are worthy, powerful, and divinely guided. It does not matter what religion we preach or what spirituality we practice – or the lack thereof! We are on the path!!!
Yes, this is not a seamless transition. Yes, we are going to acquire trauma, pain, wounds, and emotional baggage. This fate is okay. The past is not as good as it gets. As such, the grass is brighter on the other side. And, by the other side, I mean in this lifetime. Correct, we are stepping into our highest power. We are releasing the old and receiving the new. Speaking of which, I am sure we’ve all heard the saying, “stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready.”
How to be Mindful about the Triggers: What does that mean? How does that work? Can we prepare for every curve ball life throws? Does blueprint for our lives manifest through every nook and cranny?
Perhaps the fear of the unknown or other people triggers us, or we fear what the absence of control looks like and how it manifests. Either way, it is going to happen. The unprecedented is going to wreak havoc. So, perhaps staying ready is more about ourselves and less about all the rest. Maybe there is nothing to get as readiness is a state of awareness; it is about being prepared. What does that mean? This philosophy means accepting what is outside of our control and acknowledging we can only control so much.
Yet, the more control we surrender, the more we have – that’s what makes us so darn powerful! That said, when curious about how to be mindful about the triggers, please note that we can never exhaust all our options. The sky is the limit. The opportunities for bigger and better are endless.
Perhaps taking deep breaths works best for some. Still, others need psychotherapy and interpersonal support. As long as we find the best combination to boost our emotional intelligence, all is well. Even if we do not have all the answers today, all good things come to those who wait. So, we must keep fighting for ourselves and expecting a better, more optimistic fate.
Indeed, prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Meanwhile, we must continue to work on our craft. We must see what every tree represents before we can understand what the forest symbolizes. Or, perhaps it is vice versa after all. Nonetheless, we must know that the dots are connecting.

Some people think that emotions make us weak. Others believe they give us strength, nuance, and humanity. Either way, no being is more powerful than a being who has mastered the art of emotional regulation. We are on the path to excavate the treasure, which is how to be mindful about the triggers we encounter.
