Sometimes life suffocates us into a whirlwind of doubt and insecurity. Other times, we do not know how to respond to the demands that accumulate on our plates. Life does not always prepare us to be mature, stable adults. Levitating to a new level, we find ourselves unpeeling layers to obtain the truth. Then, we shed old skin and cocoon into a foreign body. Logic becomes our worst enemy when our distress depersonalizes us beyond reason. As such, we must question how to conquer the world of emotions.

Embrace Your Insecurities
Whether we fear public speaking or driving on a highway for the first time, we must own our humanity. We are a spectrum and an imperfect entity. We do not need to possess all the answers. Instead, we must love ourselves because of our faults and limitations. Everyone fears not being good enough. However, this does not make our feelings any less valid.
One fear is no less significant than the other. Then again, our experiences tailor to our subjectivities and sentiments. We accumulate different pet peeves from our conditioning. Still, we cannot feel secure unless we address our insecurities first.
In my experience, I fear people will judge me because of my eccentricity. I remember the compulsion to fit in as a child. I often apologize for my uniqueness since my intimates all but embraced my soul. Today, I feel insecure about stigma and not controlling the development of a situation.
When my psychiatrist diagnosed me with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder, I decided to no longer sugarcoat my insecurities. I must get even more candid about setting boundaries and unapologetically embracing myself. Also, I must adapt to a healthier lifestyle to thrive and sustain myself.
We can and will succeed when we take accountability. We must embrace the qualities that make us the most human.
Again, no being lives for perfection — that defeats the purpose of existence. We incarnate to live and progress our soul’s craft. Furthermore, we are not creating art or merely artists; we are art. We are diamonds, no matter how rough the circumstance. Chasing the unfathomable high of perfection breaks and depresses us. We must seek the natural journey as it progresses in our souls.
Moreover, we do have control over how we respond. Perfection is not choking us. We must reevaluate our frame of reference. Giving our power away coerces us to buy into the belief that we are helpless, stranded in a chasm of darkness. We must cherish our sustenance. We can walk away from the stronghold whenever we are ready. Is it that easy?
Releasing an addiction to pain is neither a breeze in the park nor as simple as a twelve-step program. Letting go is one of the most challenging parts of resilience. For instance, we do not need to see green or ninety percent to know we are excellent; red does not always symbolize blood; counting an odd number sum does not cast a spell of misfortune, etc.
We must whiff a breath of fresh air — the calm arises after the darkest part of the storm. We must toast to brighter shores.
Reach out for Help
Seeking professional support seems obvious, but it is deceptively simple. We forget to help ourselves when the moment manipulates us to sweat heavier than a hog. Our emotions stunt our rationale. The light at the end of the tunnel distorts.
We must remember that we are not alone. Suffering from mental health is underreported and common. We do not need to succumb to another negative statistic. We must emanate humility and pride to proceed to the next steps. If anyone shames us for our problems, they are not the best for our health. We do not deserve abuse or condemnation. We need nourishment.
Unhealthy substitutes such as co-dependence, drugs, and sex can cause more problems and harm. We must address our concerns as less is more. Sometimes we need other people to remind us of our greatness. Other times, we need to stop running away from the inevitable. Whether we have a chemical imbalance, we deserve to have our voices felt and heard.
How to Conquer the World: Not Being Okay is Valid
We can lie to everyone until we are blue in the face. We can convince ourselves that all is well. Despite this, we can only deceive ourselves for so long. Only a few people describe how they feel when another asks them a generic question about their welfare. Why? Are we afraid people will view us as a Negative Nancy or Nathan? Is our reputation more important than our identity or soul? Since when do we need to apologize for human emotions?
Our world would not catch as much profound sickness if we developed more attunedness to our sores. In other words, we must stop ignoring ourselves. All our feelings are valid. We do not have to negotiate the terms of our okayness. Also, fake positivity is for the birds. Every soul possesses their road or alternative. We cannot judge another person without walking a mile in their shoes.
Still, we must focus on ourselves if we yearn to transmute this world. Waking up numb and depersonalized deserves as much love and understanding as an upbeat, lively start. We should not shun someone for their emotions. We must embrace them and sympathize with their struggle.
People invalidate us because that is what they give themselves. We must develop a new narrative: we are self-validation.
At last, we do not have to descend into the average Joe trope by looking outside ourselves. However, this is a struggle we all must overcome. Validating ourselves entails accepting where we stand. We cultivate self-love when we recognize our essence. We need neither feedback nor commentary to know we have a divine purpose. Most important, we embody how much the world needs our service.
Sure, we can seek validation. Yes, it is human to desire social acceptance. Nonetheless, we do not need permission to be ourselves. Likewise, adhering to our intimates’ dreams is the antithesis of self-validation and organic living. We must excavate our purpose even if that bucks against the grain of what our loved ones taught us. Other people are only a mirror.
What do we see? What do we fabricate with our imaginations? Does it induce vertigo to observe the reflection?
Furthermore, validation from other people is the icing on the cake. We deserve a bonus, and we must validate our well-earned efforts. We attract more of what we are. Thus, we must feed ourselves with messages and affirmations of validation.
How to Conquer the World: Why not give ourselves what no other person can? Why not validate ourselves when self-love is our natural state?
