how to open the heart and let the soul sing – best 5 methods
Within the past weeks, I’ve allowed myself to open in new and exhilarating directions. Stifling myself is all but in my best interest. Suffering lasts so long — instead, I’d rather live my life to the fullest. Life is neither static nor immutable but a spectrum of variety, spice, and dynamic horizons. Sometimes when everything in life seems dead, that gives enough incentive to feast on the buffet of life. Other times, ignoring the call becomes too painful of a sensation to bear. Therefore, this article expounds on how to open the heart and let the soul sing with the five best methods:
- Exploit the Feel-Good Vibrations
- Be the Crave
- Go with the Flow
- Live for the Height of Passions
- Find the Higher Power Within, Without
Exploit the Feel-Good Vibrations
Yes, it is significant to keep ourselves grounded. Sure, expecting life to be a bed of roses is too idealistic to sustain. Still, we must make a habit of what rekindles the flame lying dormant in our souls. Ever wake up from a dream that you wish could last a lifetime, forever? What transpired within your being as tears streamed down your cheeks like a shooting star, vivid, visceral images draining from your conscious mind? Did your pen map out all the impressions from your beautiful dream before it was too late?
I think we can all agree that the most profound emotions move us to be better people. Out of the blue, the current wipes us off our feet, taking us for the swim of a lifetime. We must allow ourselves to take the plunge to let our inner child-esque joy ride. After all, no one wants to live their entire lives on auto-pilot or life support, succumbing to a fate no different from a vegetable. Meanwhile, we must lose the stigma. In other words, losing ourselves in the moment restores our high-vibe.
How to Open the Heart: Be the Crave
Unbeknownst to me, this point brings to mind Years & Years’ second single, “Crave” from Night Call. Growing addicted to any escapist substitutes doesn’t require much more than a taste of bliss and pure immersion. Quite simply, life is a drug. Meditation is the life for the old souls, empaths, spiritualists, gypsies, and downtrodden — high on sobriety is the motto. Nonetheless, we must fight the urge to succumb to addictive, counterproductive, and self-deprecating behaviors.
As such, everything we chase will flee from us. For instance, if I keep chasing a specific amount of views on my TikTok or Instagram, my main objective will continue to exceed my grasp. Time is quicksand, an hourglass. Yet, whatever we seek is seeking us. Knowing the difference between healthy and unhealthy works for our journey. We must be the transcendence, bliss, peace, joy, and escapism we seek. Indeed, we sing best when we listen to our hearts to know how to fulfill our needs.
Go with the Flow

Why do we keep oppressing ourselves? Don’t we know that we don’t have to perpetuate the cycle our oppressors forged — we have the natural-born right to own every part of ourselves? Why not give in to our desires, immersing in the heart of our erroneous zones? After all, don’t we deserve to break free from the cycle of slavery, bondage, and generational abuse?
Of course, our thinking brain encourages us to consider costs and benefits, pros and cons before making decisions. Still, we must listen to our intuition, e.g., meditation, to hear the direction and flow of the waves. Then, we can release our inhibitions. Doesn’t our mind and soul deserve to experience a whole-body orgasm? Why not climax to the sirens lurking within the soothing, albeit tumultuous waves?
One of the best ways to open the heart is to open our throat chakra. Soliloquies, lectures, debates, and motivational speeches yearn to break free from the vessel of our earthen prison? We strain within ourselves, yelping to cease the friction. Instead of pulling against ourselves, we must push together. Flowing in the Tao requires us to embrace our trauma, battle scars, and wounds. Essentially, we must let the lyrics of our soul flow smoother from a river running buck wild and fancy-free.
How to Open the Heart: Live For the Height of Passions
Life stresses the hell out of the finest soldiers. Our confidence, sustenance, and willpower erode when circumstances beat us black and blue. Still, the brain fog doesn’t last forever. The emotional distress and suicidality pass like a rose by any other name. We always have multiple reasons to live, thrive, and expand in the knowledge the world needs us. Indeed, we wouldn’t exist in the state of nature or beyond if we didn’t have a mission to execute. As such, we must participate in what brings us to the peak of our game.
Why play it small when we can go pick? Why fear success more than any failure knows? Our potential is limitless, fathomless, and infinite. The ceiling levitates and bleeds into the age-old womb of time and space themselves, except the construct never existed in the first place, illuminating our limitless soul within the body of the limited.
Of course, I applied this logic to my life: I can be an actor, singer, writer, and eternal student without sacrificing who I am. We must give ourselves the motive to live for and be the height of our passions. Sometimes we live best when discovering our convictions, e.g., justice, the scales of equality. Other times, we indulge in what relieves our stress to restore balance.
Spiritual or otherwise, it’s a religious experience to feel every part of our being alive, agile, and ablaze with the youth of fire.
How to Open the Heart: Find the Higher Power Within, Without
Not required, one of the best ways to go within is to go without — we learn how to trust ourselves when we find our circumstances upended, suspended in ruins. We see the light (of the tunnel) emanating within our souls before we succumb to the chasm of darkness. Instead of seeking another person to answer our questions or solve our problems, we learn to be our savior. We don’t need anybody to lead us astray or tell us how to govern our temple. Authority, a rose by any other name, is composed of people more or less equals and human. We don’t need to make a God out of another being.
Essentially, we are the Higher Power we weep for, psychological awareness simulating the gallows of hell. We can argue we pray to ourselves as much as we do our Source of faith. We are heaven and hell all in one package, vessel. However, the choice is ours. Life does not aim to break or discourage us. Instead, it illuminates who we are: the “Golden Phoenix.”
We don’t fathom how powerful we are — our “Sweet Energy” is the reason why pirates siege our treasures. Platinum records, we are the Higher Power within and without. Indeed, nobody sings our “Love Identity” better than our uninhibited souls.
