First and foremost, we must be willing to challenge the negative societal conditioning we manifest. In other words, our limiting beliefs and inhibitions are deep within our subconscious mind. Of course, this concerns how family and society molded us. Perhaps our struggle with self-acceptance stems from the seeds of self-sabotage ingrained in our heads. Instead of birthing a garden of plants, we ended up with a sea of weeds. So, how to start the journey of self-acceptance. Well, there are six unique, best methods to cultivate this virtue:

Start the Journey of Self-Acceptance: Embrace that You’re Stuck
Matter of factly, accepting where we are is better than pretending all is well. Our struggles didn’t appear last night. We didn’t wake up feeling moving forward, despite our best efforts, is an impossibility. Instead, we deal with a timeline of experiences shaping our identity and understanding of self and reality. Sometimes we don’t know where to start. Other times, we need to embrace we won’t find answers until we trust.
Sure, we can try to cease constipation in our bowels until breaking down. Then again, who wants to scream until they’re blue in the face, staring at a brick wall. Why not look in the mirror and see our reflection? Why attract more hardships when we can learn from every experience? Embracing our stuckness allows us to move forward and accept every side of our being.
Start the Journey of Self-Acceptance: Understand the Process isn’t Linear
Progress is neither a thin line nor a sequential process. Also, we should expect highs and lows to encapsulate our journey. Some days we will feel invincible, on top of the world. Other days, we will feel like the world is out to get us. Nonetheless, we must find inner peace and stillness within. Indeed, moving twenty baby steps forward and five steep steps backward is okay. If we fight our entire lives to be healthy and improved, we are well on our way.
Then again, we must admit that variety is the spice of life. More likely than not, we encounter issues in this lifetime, past lifetimes, and parallel or future lifetimes in one body, mind, and soul. Again, we will experience setbacks and challenges on our course. The ultimate obstacle is not just ourselves but our propensity for impatience and intolerance of non-linearity. Indeed, we must be the flow — more meets the eye of the currents and influence of the moon.
See the Bigger Picture
Our challenges won’t last forever. Yes, we are significant and deserve to know our worth. No, we are not the only tree in the forest, fish in the sea. Still, our pain in the heat of the moment is vital. We must use that as leverage to improve our circumstances — talk about avenging ourselves. Maybe we can’t change the curveballs life throws our way. However, we can prepare for this via inner light working. We must dive within our souls to connect the dots and see the cosmic picture.
Indulging in our (extra)sensory perception ranges from a beautiful, pleasant, soothing experience to a tumultuous, chaotic, and unprecedented one. Again, we must detach from how we feel. Of course, this enables us to understand how to cope and why life is happening for us to expand.
Start the Journey of Self-Acceptance: Take Yourself as You Are
No matter what, we still have the potential to become better people. Our thoughts, feelings, and actions define us less than we define them. We are imperfect, messy, flawed, beautiful, and ultimately human. Perhaps we are on step seven or twenty-nine out of thirty-five. Then again, we could experience stuckness via the inner knowledge we continue to manifest lower (or higher!) than we are. Either way, our journey is as valid and substantial as the next person. Indeed, every shade of the rainbow is as gorgeous, purposeful, and stunning as ever.
We don’t have to go out into the world and do something to obtain worth. Our existence proves our invaluable, worthy nature. If we weren’t somebody, we wouldn’t have reincarnated into the flesh (of all states of awareness). When we peer into the soul of the nighttime sky, we aren’t reaching for the shooting stars. When we gaze at the unfathomable Northern Lights, our souls don’t change what we could never be. Instead, we are beyond the sky. Essentially, we awaken our Higher Self when we embrace the person we are today.
Meditate
Of course, one of the simplest ways to start the journey of radical self-acceptance is meditation. Once we get a taste of timeless bliss, eternal peace, we don’t want to come back down to the affairs of the world — this is similar to how people feel when their souls venture into heaven. Indeed, meditation is an out-of-body experience. Interestingly enough, this allows us to feel more at home within our bodies. After an x amount of sessions, we stop comparing one to the next. Instead, we embrace the sum of our parts equal to the whole.
Matter of factly, meditation helps us to love ourselves regardless of how much society stigmatizes our identity. Whether we are black or white, gay (non-cishet) or straight, rich or poor, etc., the spectrum of ourselves deserves love, recognition, and assurance. One of the best ways to empower the disenfranchised, minority, and queer populace concerns feeling great about what makes us different. Shooting or otherwise, we are all stars more than worth shining. So, find a comfortable spot, relax, take a few deep belly breaths, and allow a unique experience to paint the canvas. Let’s embody heaven on earth.
Start the Journey of Self-Acceptance: Accept All That Is
Again, making mistakes is an invaluable part of the process. We internalize most of the guilt and shame we experience. We believe being perfect enables us immunity from society insofar they won’t condemn us with judgment. Still, we can’t escape this fatalistic phenomenon. Life doesn’t go as planned, and we must be adaptable to the flow of the blueprint. Meanwhile, certain aspects of our identity are more mutable than we’d like to admit. Change is the only constant in the universe.
That said, why not embrace an unlabelled or queer identity? After all, labels are toxic, stifling, and minimizing for our whole. Also, aren’t we a bit of everything and nothing simultaneously? Don’t we merge the fine richness and diversity of the human experience every time we reincarnate into a new set of lessons and conditions? Why do we continue to fight ourselves and the world when we have little control? Then again, aren’t we in control when we stop opposing our soul?
