What to Expect?
Furthermore, this review will be sharing what some of the reviews are saying as well as highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of this classical guide. I present to you the power of now book reviews.
But, first and foremost, who is the author of the Power of Now? What prompted his radical spiritual transformation and where is he now (forgive the pun)?
Who is Eckhart Tolle?
Eckhart Tolle is a native of Germany who attended the University of London. He eventually went to Cambridge University. Moreover, he was a research scholar and supervisor during his time there.
Nonetheless, it wasn’t until age 29 that his life took a sharp turn. His experience was very radical, unprecedented, and bizarre to say the least. It not only enriched his perspective but served as a route to enlightenment.
Indeed, it was a profound spiritual awakening that caused that practically erased his personal identity. Essentially, it forced him to dig within, eliminate the ego, and see the real him underneath all the layers. His consciousness meditated on expansion, growth, development, and of course enlightenment.
As a result, he spent an entire decade enhancing, cultivating, and refining the deep, intensive awakening process. It ultimately pushed him to search within and wander into the abyss of his soul. He found himself and evolved into a spiritual mentor and guide.
Taking a Tolle?
These eyes wide open teachings recorded by Eckhart not only sparked the scrutinizing process of radical transformation but also informed his number-one bestselling book the power of now.
Likewise, Tolle is a world-renowned spiritual teacher who gives simple, yet effective wisdom. Ironically, this wisdom is not only going against the traditional grain but it also transcends that of religion and integrates the spirit of one’s being.
In the end, he is a personal growth and spirituality champion who took the world by a storm. Even Oprah cited Tolle as a major league influencer on her journey. His ability to enlighten the masses, for instance, got Oprah through 9/11 and prompted her to feature his bestseller on her 2002’s “Oprah Favorite Things” show. He is simply enlightened!
Meanwhile, he lives in Vancouver, British Columbia as he meditates on his enlightened path and facilitates sold-out groups in North America and Europe.
He is what everyone aspires to be: self-actualized, prophetic, empowering, insightful, awake, sober, and enlightened.
The power of now book reviews
June says (five out of five):
This was my “last book” I read it three months ago and haven’t returned to that dark and hopeless place yet.
It taught me how to disconnect from the insanity of the mind. I had spent my life reading thousands of books trying to “figure it out” to make my way to a place of happiness and functionality, what Tolle explains that trying to solve the problems of thought from the level of thought is an impossibility. When we let go of mind-consciousness we do not become a meditative vegetable, instead, we gain access to the consciousness of our whole body and a more advanced awareness.
Amazon Customer says (five out of five):
I have over 25 years of experience as a clinical psychologist. This is hands down the best self-help book I have ever come across, and can not fathom why the very simple and straight-forward concepts Tolle presents were never once mentioned in my grad school training or any of the countless professional development workshops I have attended over the years. If you are dealing with depression and/or anxiety, this is the book to get. But you need to read it slowly, to take it in bit by bit, and actually pause to practice what he is explaining in each section to benefit from it. You can’t just skim it and expect to understand it in a way that will open your life and help you experience the freedom and ease of this very moment. I keep it by my bed and re-read sections all the time. Thank you Eckhart!
Randal Best says (five out of five):
Hundreds of books, millions of dollars, two divorces, several kinds of anti-depressants, and 45 years later I found Eckhart Tolle. The book itself is amazing and transformational. My life changing experience however did not come from insight gained in the text. The preface which gave a brief but clear account of Tolle’s own transformation completely overwhelmed me. I was completely engulfed by my personal connection to the author’s own pain and fear before his journey began. Reading it over and over and shedding many tears, I knew without any doubt that beginning that day I would start my own journey into the present. Make no mistake I was fearful. But who am I without thought, judgment, or control ? I would gladly trade my ego for peace. On 3-5-15 I began an absolute commitment to stay present and live in gratitude. I told myself I would give it 6 months and just watch the process unfold without judgement.
ChemicalFreePlease says (five out of five):
Everyone should read this book. Eckhart Tolle is a spiritual teacher he guides you how to live in the Now and how to become aware of your chattering mind, how to deal with painful emotions, how to awaken from the preconditioned self – by this I mean the person you think you are but really its just a lot of ideas and beliefs coming from teachers, parents, religion, this book will free you from that old self and become free to live in the now.
@delemart says (five out of five):
The book is very well written and easy to follow. Virtually all of the proposals and suggestions in it resonated with me. I would recommend it to anybody interested in connecting with their soul and attaining a state of infinite peace. I gave the book a 5 Star rating because I truly believe it had transformed my life and set me well and truly on the route to discovering and my soul and connecting with it. It has given me the power to control, instead of being controlled by, my mind

I, too, can say that this was one of the best books I have read. Interesting and lightly written, it carries such a strong message that we will never receive a more important message again. Is there anything more important than realizing that all life takes place all the time at the moment now?
I’ve read a lot of books on spirituality, and I would recommend a lot to read, but I join many who rate The Power of Now in the first place.
Thank you for reminding me of this book and sharing this article with us.
I wish you all the best
Yeah, the power is always now and this is a book that few others can match in terms of insight, breadth of knowledge, wisdom, experience, transformative studies, and most of all enlightenment — a vibrational frequency of 700+. I am very happy to share this information with you. You have a fantastic, blissfully eyes wide open day!
I first read a book called A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle and later saw an interview with the author on Oprah Winfrey show. Interest in his way of explanation led me to purchase The Power of Now. It is probably the most profound treatment of the issues that keep us bound and in need of healing. He writes in sections, and so you deal with one idea at a time. Most of the time, I found myself going back over sections before moving on to the rest of the book. The underlying concept of learning to be present, takes practice but the changes it makes in one’s life is phenomenal. Thanks for this article.
Thank you for bringing this book to my attention.
As one who is continuously on the path of self-improvement, and self-awareness I believe this just may be the next book I read.
To be truly successful and happy in life you need to explore the deepest recesses of your spiritual, conscious and unconscious self.
Fulfill your purpose, and only you can truly know what that is through self-reflection.
This book sounds like it will be the perfect guide for understanding yourself and your true purpose and path to happiness and success.
Have you read it yourself? What were your results and personal experiences? Are there other books you recommend as well?
This sounds like a great book to help us get our lives in order. We all get to that “turning point” at some time in our lives. For some, it’s external, something the world can see and for others, it’s something deep within ourselves. The review that hit me the most was from June, who said the book taught her how to “disconnect from the insanity of the mind”. That’s powerful. I can’t wait to read it.
And also, maybe a mid-life crisis isn’t such a bad thing after all. It is a blessing in disguise. And that is the art of life: everything happens for you even if it isn’t that obvious. Likewise, I found June’s review to be the most empowering as well.
