What is the importance of meditation?
Now that is the million-dollar question. Who would have ever thought the importance of meditation could be so simple, yet effective. And just by establishing a daily routine, you can go from rags to riches in every attribute of your being. That’s the beauty. You. You deserve to experience the whole package and thus live your best life. Instead of choosing what you can and cannot have, meditation is the key to being all that you want and embracing all that you are.
Simply put, meditation is important because it benefits everything in moderation (i.e. love, finances, relationships, career, intelligence, empathy). All core elements of life are enhanced when meditation graces you with the examined life. And, with this illumination the fog dissipates. As a result, you see clearly what is out of balance and how to rectify accordingly.
In other words, to say meditation is important is an understatement. Essential would be the more accurate word. As such, this article will delineate the aforementioned question: what is the importance of meditation?
- Getting Grounded
- Identifying Limitations
- Pushing Barriers
- Restoring Peace
- Letting Go
Getting Grounded
First and foremost, meditation is as realistic as escapism gets. Matter of fact, the zen, immersive experience of meditation is almost too real. Yet, it is the ultimate way to get grounded. So, whether you plant your feet in the dirt, take a forest bath in the heart of nature, or mindfully snooze in the comfort of your home, meditation is as grounded as it gets. The irony, of course, is meditation helps you to find appropriate balance between head in the clouds and feet in the ground. For that reason alone, it is importance because it regulates emotional response. It catalyzes the gap between stimuli and response and finds the space to inform you to make smart, wise, grounded decisions. Moreover, it can even help with a potential chemical imbalance. As with sleep, your body needs to replenish itself to recharge and rejuvenate. When your chemicals are balanced, you cannot help but be grounded. Thus, meditation makes the difference between a focused, productive life and a life shrouded with disorientation and chaos.
Importance of meditation in Identifying Limitations
Has there ever been a time in which you felt like you kept failing? No matter what you try, you couldn’t seem to push past the obstacles on your trial? Well, you are not alone… I am here with you.
Just kidding, I digress.
Anyways, these inconveniences are certainly not in vain. On the contrary, they are equipping you to identify what no longer serves you. It is only then that you can tap into the source of the infinite, abundant you. That said, we all have limitations, not matter how big or small. Nonetheless, a great majority of these limitations are self-imposed, some of which are quite implicit. Essentially, there are limiting beliefs in which block or reduce the flow of success. And with these blockages come a lack of clarity, disturbance, frustration, and an all-but-idle feeling of hopelessness.
However, not all hope is lost. Meditation is crucial to boosting self-awareness. So, if you feel like you have been self-sabotaging, take that as a sign that you are identifying these limitations. Imagine how much more you can accomplish when you move the only thing standing in your way: you. Indeed, in order to achieve the next step, you must eliminate the limitations to accentuate on the limitless you.
Pushing Barriers
Why keeping pulling against the grain? Isn’t that just going to pull you further from where you want to be? How can you work with the barriers? What will you discover in the process?
This is the line of reasoning one must adopt. One must be aware of the Chinese finger grip philosophy. The more one pulls, the more estranged their fingers become. The amygdala aims to retain homeostasis. Naturally, there is friction between who you want to be and who you are. It takes it virtually impossible to move forward when you are always at war.
So, contrary to popular belief, the solution is surrender. Powerful surrender at that. It is important to accept where you are at and allow changes to happen. Keeping pushing forward when obstacles come your way. Try not to pull away from the reality in your face. Additionally, pushing with barriers versus pulling away from them is the difference between building bridges and creating walls.
Consequently, that is the importance of meditation; every part of yourself in harmony. Now collaborate, not complete, within.
Restoring Peace
Never say never. What an adoring, ever-present philosophy to abide by? You can turn a frown into the greatest smile. Yet, the challenge is not the product, but rather the process of getting there in one piece. However, you are not getting there. You are coming full circle, only greater than the peace bestowing you before. Hence, restoring peace. Meanwhile, try not to give up on yourself yet. When the going gets rough, that’s when most of us like to throw in the towel and leave the ring. Despite this, your biggest breakdown is your greatest breakthrough. So, don’t worry about restoring peace all in one peace. Instead, try to focus on how much virtue you are finding amidst your challenges. Indeed, you are the virtuous, fresh, crystallized diamond in the rough. As such, meditation is the route to all peace ever since it is the antithesis to attachment, the root of all suffering. Without a doubt, you are the peace you seek. Meditation is important because it brings this fact into full awareness.
Letting Go & Importance of Meditation
At last, the time is now to let go. Let go of the past, let go of the future, let go of letting go. Quite simply, be the flow. Even trying to let go can create friction. And while it is easier said then done, it is important to utilize meditation to let all your heart desires flow to you. Furthermore, if one of your heart desires is to let go of what no longer serves, let the process flow. Try, to the best of your ability, to let go of the need of control. By the same token, if you life has ever felt out of control, meditation is the key to being in control. The more you acknowledge that you are the protagonist, the greater your capacity to shed disease of the ego and free yourself of futile baggage. Sure, there might be twist and turns, you are still the center. All eyes are in you. You have the power to starve the resistance and thereby feed the flow. Indeed, it is as easy as unpeeling all the layers, allowing yourself to be bare, and being a healthier, wealthier, more empowered version of yourself. Less is more. As such, letting go is meditation’s best friend.

MIRACLE MEDITATIONS
WOW! This is a great post and quite inspirational! I knew meditation was important and that it provided benefits in some way however I never looked at meditation in a more deeper way than explained here.
I also like how mediation actually allows you to sometimes store away what’s on your mind and help focus and relieve stress. After reading through this I think I need to start thinking about adding meditation into my routine! Thanks for this info!
You are welcome! Let me know if you have any more thoughts or questions. I am more than happy to provide you with the best service.
Hey there!
Thank you for compiling the importance of meditation. This has struck me and wanted to know more about how I can start meditating as I do not know where to begin with. I hope I could find a post of yours where it teaches beginners how to meditate.

Yes and thank you. Beginners and all are welcome to meditate on miracles.
Your article certainly makes a lot of strong claims for the benefits of meditation. But, what is your evidence? Where are the studies that demonstrate the benefits of meditation to an individual and to society? I know they exist because I got into meditation when I was a teenager largely due to such evidence.
On the other hand, do you have anecdotal stories about how meditation has benefitted anyone in particular? I’d love to read about what meditation had meant in your life.
Another thought is that it would be good to offer a simple meditation technique somewhere in the article for readers who don’t have any experience with such things.
I think you wrote a really strong article about the benefits of meditation, but it would be enhanced by any of the things I mentioned.
Thank you for your feedback. Part of my evidence include the links I have provided, some of which include evidence in the form of credible, popular sources (e.g. Forbes & HeadSpace). For future reference, I will definitely cite my sources and back up my claims.
With abundant stressors in life these days people could use meditation and the recommendations on this page. The information on this website is informative and helpful. Personally mindful meditations have been a big part of my life as a consequence of seeking therapies for mental health issues. It’s my opinion that we could all benefit from meditation. Martin
Thanks for sharing, Martin!!
Many of us don’t think about meditating. It can be relax the body and mind. It does not have to be stretching to much, but to take some few minutes off, and reflect.
Sitting and relaxing the body can do wonders. Shutting down everything. I remember until this day my step dad used to say I need to lie down and take deep breath.
Close my eyes and not think about anything. It used to help me free my mind. Getting grounded it’s soo important. Thanks for the reminder and also sharing. Good tips for all of us.
Thank you so much!
